Despite monsoon conditions, over 500 people enjoyed 12 youthful acts at the first ever Poundbury Rocks event on August 9th.

The superb sound system from Levelsound showcased talented youngsters starting with Dorchester’s own youthful Pop Club who wowed the audience with their enthusiasm. The brilliant, charismatic professional band ‘Imperial Leisure’ made a guest appearance much to the delight of the crowd. Playing with Giants; The Reps, Fading within Reason, Memories of the Future and Bright Light Culture provided a line-up of youthful and talented local bands. Poundbury Rocked in the Rain

Individual performers included Gus Ross Skinner, Sarah Warren, and the phenomenal Jessica Lewis.

The Daze rounded off the evening as the headline band clearly demonstrating how far a local band can come with talent and dedication. They were superb!

The event was organised by the Maiden Castle Group, and brilliantly hosted by David Leaper, who also accompanied Sarah on the guitar for one of her numbers!

The Maiden Castle Group wants to thank all the brilliant acts for doing so well in difficult conditions. They also want to thank all their sponsors who gave so willingly for this experimental event and who helped make it happen. And they want to thank all those people who ventured out in the worst weather this summer to enjoy the bands.

Finally, the group wants to thank Neil Crick LRPS who provided the brilliant pictures. For more of these look here
